Many Managers Are Investing In Bruno Guimarães
Newcastle have produced a mixed bag of results in the Premier League this season, having won five games, lost five, and drawn four.
There have been a few surprises for FPL managers when looking at Newcastle players, with names such as Dan Burn and Nick Pope ranking among the highest-performing assets in their respective positions.
However, it is their Brazilian midfielder, Bruno Guimarães, who has been capturing the attention of FPL managers in recent weeks.
When looking at Bruno’s FPL points tally in recent weeks, it is easy to see why people have started to notice his consistency.
In the last six gameweeks, Bruno has not received fewer than four FPL points in any given gameweek.
He scored 10 FPL points in Gameweek 9 against Fulham, followed by four points against West Ham in Gameweek 10.
In Gameweek 11, Bruno scored another four points against Brentford, and then received 10 points against Manchester City in Gameweek 12.
Gameweek 13 saw Bruno gaining another four points, and in his most recent outing against Spurs, Bruno added another seven points to his FPL total.
This amounts to an average of 6.5 FPL points per game since 25 October 2025.
It seems like Bruno Guimarães has the ability to score points in almost every way possible, with four goals, four assists, and four clean sheets in only 12 starts this season.
Points delivered from defensive actions have also been a big factor in Bruno’s rising popularity, as the midfielder has made a total of 112 defensive contributions so far this season.
With fixtures against Burnley, Sunderland, and Chelsea approaching, it is easy to see why Bruno is the third most transferred-in FPL player leading up to Gameweek 15.
At a price point of £6.8m, Bruno provides incredible value.
Astonishingly, Bruno is still owned by only 7.3% of managers worldwide, so he could still be seen as a real differential pick as things stand.
Nick Woltemade Vs Jarrod Bowen
Picking the right set of forwards has been tricky since the start of the season, with several big names either injured or underperforming.
FPL managers who are looking for cheaper options, but not quite those who are in the “budget” category, would undoubtedly have looked at either Newcastle striker Nick Woltemade or West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen.
These two have had similar FPL outputs this season, with Jarrod Bowen coming in at £7.5m and a total of 57 FPL points, and Nick Woltemade being priced at £7.4m with a total of 54 FPL points.
These two forwards have contrasting profiles on the pitch, but let’s look at how much of a difference there is when looking at their statistics this season.
Jarrod Bowen has had more game time in the Premier League this season, with 1,260 minutes on the pitch for West Ham.
Nick Woltemade has played 880 minutes for Newcastle, but he has produced more goals than Bowen this season.
Woltemade currently has five goals in 11 appearances this season, compared to three goals in 14 appearances for Bowen.
Woltemade has a significantly higher xG (expected goals) than Bowen, with 4.51 compared to 1.94.
Many would look at this and think “case closed,” as Woltemade seems to be the better finisher between the two.
But when looking a bit deeper, we can see that choosing Bowen above Woltemade might have some merit.
Bowen has had 16 shots inside the opposition box this season, compared to seven from Woltemade.
Bowen has also been more active from range, with eight shots from outside the box compared to only two shots from range for Woltemade.
Bowen also has had more touches in the opposition box, with 65 compared to 49 from Woltemade.
Woltemade has, however, hit the woodwork twice this season, while Bowen has struck the bar on one occasion.
When it comes to creating goals, Bowen has the higher xA (expected assists), with 1.33 compared to Woltemade’s 0.41.
This is to be expected, as Bowen has a tendency to play in much wider areas than Nick.
We can see the potential difference Bowen’s positioning makes when looking at crosses whipped into the box, with Bowen having attempted 34 crosses compared to two from Woltemade.
Despite the higher xA, Bowen still only has one assist this season, a tally that is matched by Woltemade, as he registered his first assist for his new club in Gameweek 14 against Spurs.
While it is clear that Woltemade has the higher potential for FPL points derived from goals, and Bowen could receive more points from assists this season, it will be interesting to see which one of these vastly different forward options finishes the season with a higher points tally.

Final Thoughts
Gameweek 15 presents another challenging set of fixtures for Fantasy Premier League managers, with rotation and fatigue still a major concern following a busy schedule.
This week rewards those who can combine careful planning with a willingness to take calculated risks.
Consistency will be key.
Players who have maintained form over the past few gameweeks are likely to deliver again, while shrewd managers may find differential options among those benefiting from injuries or tactical rotations.
Keeping an eye on recent stats and underlying metrics can help separate reliable picks from short-term spikes in form.
Fixture analysis is crucial.
Teams with favourable matchups could provide strong returns, while others face tough games that demand a flexible approach to squad selection.
Choosing when to prioritise immediate points versus long-term stability will make a big difference this week.
Budget options continue to play a vital role in squad management.
They allow managers to cover multiple positions, mitigate rotation risks, and provide the flexibility to bring in high-impact players elsewhere in the squad.
As Gameweek 15 begins, stay alert to press conferences, check lineups closely, and back players with a secure starting role and proven returns.
Smart decision-making now can pay dividends in the congested festive period ahead.
Here’s to a gameweek filled with clever moves, decisive captain choices, and points that push your squad forward.
