FPL Assets Leading On Form For Gameweek 13
Let’s start by looking at the current form amongst the best FPL players for Matchweek 13 before getting into our free fantasy football tips.

(Form is a metric that’s issued on the official FPL platform, which uses a player’s average score per match, calculated from all matches played by his club in the last 30 days.)
Goalkeepers:
- Dean Henderson jumps to first with 7.0 points
- Bart Verbruggen is tied for second with 6.3 points
- Jordan Pickford rivals him with 6.3 points
Defenders:
- Michael Keane moves to first with 9.3 points
- Daniel Muñoz is second with 8.7 points
- Maxence Lacroix moves to third with 8.3 points
Midfielders:
- Leandro Trossard is first with 9.0 points
- Morgan Gibbs-White is second with 8.7 points
- Eberechi Eze is third with 8.3 points
Forwards:
- Callum Wilson is first with 7.0 points
- Erling Haaland is tied for second with 6.3 points
- Igor Thiago rivals him with 6.3 points
Eze Forces His Way Into the FPL Conversation
Most of the big FPL assets struggled to deliver decent points in Gameweek 12.
Those who captained Erling Haaland walked away with a mere four points, and the only FPL managers who significantly climbed the rankings were those who had Eberechi Eze in their teams.
After signing for Arsenal, Eze has started nine out of 12 games in the Premier League.
He has scored four goals and registered three assists for the Gunners.
A week ago, his FPL returns looked underwhelming, with 41 points before Gameweek 12 kicked off.
However, after scoring a hat trick against Spurs in his previous outing and collecting a total of 20 points, Eze is now tied for the third-highest points scorer among all midfielders in the game.
Only Antoine Semenyo and Declan Rice are above him when it comes to FPL points from midfield positions.
Arsenal have a difficult fixture ahead with Chelsea away, but after that, they face Brentford, Aston Villa, and Wolves.
It appears that FPL managers have seen enough from Eberechi Eze, as he is the most transferred-in midfielder ahead of the new gameweek.
Only Igor Thiago of Brentford has been transferred in more times than Eze this week.
Who Can Replace Gabriel?
The best defensive option in the entire game has been Arsenal’s Gabriel.
He has scored a total of 81 FPL points, which is more than any other Premier League defender.
He is also the most expensive defensive asset in the game, coming in at a price of £6.4m.
With such a high price tag, replacing the now-injured Gabriel opens up a pathway to any other defender if you are going for a like-for-like swap.
Picking the right replacement can be tricky, since there are already 10 defenders who have scored more than 60 FPL points this season.
Defenders have been flying in terms of points this season, with the top 10 point scorers in the entire game consisting of six defenders, two midfielders, and two forwards.
With such an array of defensive options, let us discuss three players who could be good replacements for Gabriel.
Daniel Muñoz
Crystal Palace’s Daniel Muñoz has been incredible for FPL managers so far.
He has started every game for Palace this season and has scored two goals and provided three assists from defence in the current Premier League campaign.
Muñoz has scored a total of 74 FPL points so far, and with Manchester United, Burnley, and Fulham coming up, he could score plenty more in the weeks to come.
Jurriën Timber
For those who want to remain invested in Arsenal’s defence, the most obvious replacement for Gabriel would be his teammate Jurriën Timber.
Timber has started 11 games so far this season, scoring twice and providing three assists.
He has a total of 72 FPL points to date and faces Chelsea, Brentford, and Aston Villa in his next three games.
Michael Keane
When looking at temporary budget-friendly replacements, Michael Keane is someone who has been outperforming his price tag significantly.
He has started all 12 games for Everton and has scored two goals for his club this season.
Keane has accumulated a total of 65 FPL points this season and faces Newcastle, Bournemouth, and Nottingham Forest in his next three games.
Elliot Anderson Vs Morgan Rogers
Selecting the correct group of midfield options feels trickier than it has ever been.
With most of the premium options either injured or underperforming, let us take a look at two cheaper options that have identical FPL records so far.
Elliot Anderson of Nottingham Forest is priced at £5.3m and has scored 50 FPL points.
Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa has also scored 50 FPL points and comes with a slightly higher price tag of £6.9m.
Both players have made 12 appearances this season, with Anderson playing a total of 1080 minutes and Rogers playing only 12 minutes less, with 1068.
Rogers has the clear advantage when it comes to points from attacking contributions, with three goals and two assists compared to one goal and one assist from Anderson.
Anderson has the edge when it comes to points resulting from defensive contributions, with 157 defensive actions compared to 73 from Rogers.
Anderson’s disadvantage in attacking contributions is not due to a lack of effort, as he has had the same number of shots from inside the opposition box as Rogers and, surprisingly, more shots from outside the box.
Rogers does receive the ball more frequently inside the opposition penalty area, though, with 45 touches in the box compared to 27 from Anderson.
Both players have scored from a free kick this season, but Rogers has hit the woodwork once, while Anderson has not struck the bar yet.
Rogers has also completed more dribbles than Anderson, with 42 completed compared to Anderson’s 29.
Anderson has delivered more crosses into the box than Rogers, with 17 attempted compared to 10 from Rogers.
Regardless of where Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest finish this season, it will be interesting to see which of these two players has more FPL points at the end of the season.

Differential Captain Pick Of The Week
Morgan Rogers
After scoring two goals against Leeds last weekend, Morgan Rogers should feel confident ahead of a home game against Wolves.
If Aston Villa can dominate the game, Rogers is likely to be at the heart of many attacking phases for Villa and could reward those who give him the captaincy this weekend.

Final Thoughts
Gameweek 13 arrives quickly after a busy midweek schedule for teams who played European football, and the short turnaround is already shaping the decisions FPL managers will need to make.
Fatigue, rotation, and form swings are all factors that could influence the weekend’s outcomes, making this a gameweek where preparation and awareness are more important than ever.
Some players are beginning to show real consistency, while others are emerging as differential options at just the right moment.
Paying attention to minute management and recent performances will help you separate genuine long-term assets from short-lived bandwagons.
Fixtures also play a key role this week.
Several teams enter promising runs that could offer sustained value, while others face tougher challenges that may require patience or temporary adjustments.
Balancing short-term gains with long-term planning is essential as the festive period draws nearer.
Budget-friendly players continue to deliver across multiple positions, reminding managers that value can be found in unexpected places.
Making room for these performers can give your squad the flexibility needed to navigate the coming congestion.
As Gameweek 13 approaches, stay attentive to press conferences, monitor potential rotation risks, and back players with stable roles and solid underlying numbers.
Smart, measured decisions will help you avoid frustration and set you up for success.
Here’s to a gameweek filled with confident choices and a captain who brings home the points.
