FPL Assets Leading On Form For Gameweek 12
Let’s start by looking at the current form amongst the best FPL players for Matchweek 12 before getting into our free fantasy football tips.

(Form is a metric that’s issued on the official FPL platform, which uses a player’s average score per match, calculated from all matches played by his club in the last 30 days.)
Goalkeepers:
- Emiliano Martínez is first with 7.7 points
- Dean Henderson moves to second with 5.7 points
- Giorgi Mamardashvili is third with 5.3 points
Defenders:
- Micky Van de Ven jumps to first with 8.7 points
- Gabriel Magalhães drops to second with 7.3 points
- Matty Cash moves to third with 7.0 points
Midfielders:
- Casemiro is first with 10.7 points
- Bryan Mbeumo is second with 8.0 points
- Declan Rice stays third with 7.3 points
Forwards:
- Igor Thiago is first with 7.0 points
- Erling Haaland is tied for second with 6.3 points
- Zian Flemming rivals him with 6.3 points
Managers Keep Buying Bryan Mbeumo
Manchester United are currently sitting in 7th place, tied with Liverpool on points and only two points below third-placed Chelsea.
Their main goal will be to finish in the Champions League qualification spots at the end of the season, and while there are still many things they can improve on, there is one thing that they have definitely gotten right, and that is the signing of Bryan Mbeumo.
Mbeumo has started every game for Manchester United this season, and it only took him 3 appearances to score his first Premier League goal for his new club.
Since then, his performances have continued to improve, and his recent form has caused the majority of FPL managers to strongly consider him for their teams.
Mbeumo has 5 goal contributions in his last five games.
The feeling that Mbeumo is starting to prove himself as a consistent performer has made his ownership increase dramatically, and so has his price.
Mbeumo started the season with a price tag of £8.0m, which has increased to £8.5m in recent weeks.
When looking at his performances on the pitch, we can clearly see why he has the highest xA (expected assists) in the entire league with 2.53, and an xG (expected goals) of 3.20.
Firstly, Mbeumo has played 956 minutes in the Premier League this season and has had a total of 52 touches in the opposition box.
That equates to a touch in the opposition’s penalty area once every 18.3 minutes.
Mbeumo has been lively when it comes to moving the ball around and also when taking on opposition defenders.
He averages a successful pass once every 2.98 minutes and has completed 21 dribbles this season.
With Manchester United facing Everton, Crystal Palace, and West Ham in their next three league fixtures, it is easy to see why Mbeumo is the most transferred-in player leading up to the new gameweek.
If he can keep his involvement levels high when it comes to driving up the pitch, his consistency in delivering attacking contributions should continue.
Is Igor Thiago An Essential Pick?
Usually, when it comes to FPL, if a player has scored eight goals in 11 games, he is one of the highest-owned assets in the game.
This is not the case for Brentford striker Igor Thiago, who is only owned by 11.1% of managers as things stand.
The striker has been incredible so far this season, so much so that only Erling Haaland has accumulated more FPL points than Igor Thiago among all forward options in the game.
And at a price of £6.3m, he falls well within the budget option category.
FPL managers have started to notice the consistent attacking returns of Thiago, who has scored a total of 28 FPL points in his last four outings.
Igor Thiago is currently the most transferred-in forward ahead of the new gameweek, and it feels like he is one of those players who could outperform his price tag consistently throughout the rest of the season.
Brentford face Brighton, Burnley, and Arsenal in their next three fixtures, and with so many high-profile strikers on the sidelines due to injury, it seems like Igor Thiago is a very safe pick in the weeks to come.
Reece James Vs Pedro Porro
Two defensive options that have mirrored each other’s performances so far this season are Chelsea’s Reece James and Tottenham Hotspur’s Pedro Porro.
Both of these right-backs have scored 46 FPL points this season, and with a price difference of only £0.1m, choosing between them might require a deeper look.
Both James and Porro have made 11 appearances so far this season, with James having played a total of 707 minutes and Porro having played 867 minutes.
Pedro Porro has kept four clean sheets and has made a total of 62 defensive contributions.
Reece James has been on the pitch for three clean sheets and has made 48 defensive contributions.
While Pedro Porro has the slight edge in defensive actions, Reece James has the upper hand when going forward.
James has been involved in three goals so far this season, scoring one and assisting two.
Pedro Porro has not scored yet but has contributed a single assist.
Pedro Porro has had more touches in the opposition box, with nine compared to five from Reece James.
Porro’s crossing has been much more frequent, with 50 crosses attempted into the box compared to 19 from James.
James has been moving the ball more often than Pedro, with 507 passes compared to Porro’s 452.
Reece James has completed four through balls, while Pedro Porro has completed only one.
Pedro Porro is the more successful dribbler between the two, with 13 dribbles completed compared to 11 from James.
With Chelsea and Spurs both hoping to compete for the top four this season, it will be interesting to see which of these two defenders finishes the season with more FPL points.
