Liverpool has long been considered one of the best clubs in England for bringing through young talent.
That has only been evident in recent years, with Trent Alexander-Arnold forming an integral part of a title-winning team.
His shoes look difficult to fill following his decision to join Real Madrid, but fellow academy product Conor Bradley will likely be given his opportunity by Arne Slot in 2025-26.
However, he is unlikely to be the only youngster that the Dutchman will give regular first-team minutes to this season, as the Reds look to retain their Premier League title and also compete for three major honours across the Champions League, FA Cup, and EFL Cup.
Already, the Liverpool betting odds show them to be among the leading chances in all tournaments, but which young stars could be set for a breakthrough campaign?
Will Wright
A name that many Liverpool fans will likely have to become accustomed to this season is Will Wright, as the 17-year-old striker looks like a player set for superstardom.
The club signed the forward in the summer transfer window from Salford City for a fee in the region of £200,000, and he almost enjoyed a memorable first-team debut for the club after nearly scoring on his first appearance at Anfield in a pre-season friendly against Athletic Bilbao.
Wright is widely regarded as one of the most talented English teenagers, and he made an instant impression after making his senior debut for Salford last term.
The striker also featured in the EFL Trophy against Wolves last term, as well as getting valuable minutes in the FA Cup.
However, he is unlikely to be thrust into the first-team picture immediately and will play for the Liverpool U21S for the first part of the season.
Trey Nyoni
Liverpool appears to have huge expectations for Trey Nyoni after rewarding the midfielder with a new deal during the summer.
The 18-year-old plays in the centre of midfield and has been a mainstay for the U18S since joining the club from Leicester City in 2023.
Nyoni is comfortable in the holding role, while he is also an excellent carrier of the ball, meaning that he is able to advance into the attacking positions with ease.
His ability to create chances was evident throughout the PL2 last season, with only four players creating more openings than the midfielder.
His ability has already been recognised at an international level, as he has played for England at U16 and U20 levels.
He could also yet be fast-tracked to a senior level with an excellent season, as he is the kind of midfielder that the national team typically struggles to produce.
Nyoni is yet to make a Premier League appearance, but he did make club history in the 2024-25 season by becoming the youngest player for Liverpool in a European fixture against PSV.
Slot already appears to trust the star, as he has played in all five of the team’s pre-season fixtures, and netted in a 3-1 win over Japanese club Yokohama F. Marinos a few weeks ago.
Stefan Bajcetic
There has always been huge confidence that Stefan Bajcetic could have a bright future at Liverpool, and the 2025-26 campaign could be the season when he gets his career at Anfield back on track.
The Spanish player is versatile, as he can be deployed in either the defensive midfield or central defensive positions.
That could be key to him getting minutes under Slot this season, as the Reds look light in the defensive positions.
Bajcetic enjoyed a hugely progressive start to his career at Anfield after signing for the club from Celta Vigo in December 2020.
He was quickly fast-tracked to the first team and featured in a 9-0 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League in August 2022.
He played frequently in the first half of the season, making his first start in a win in the EFL Cup against Derby County in November 2022.
His performances were rewarded with a new long-term deal in January 2023, before injury would cut short his campaign.
In a bid to get him back up to speed, he would spend the 2024-25 season out on loan, first with RB Salzburg before moving to his native Spain and Las Palmas.
However, it is expected that he will play a more prominent role in Slot’s squad for the upcoming campaign.
Amara Nallo
Amara Nallo has featured regularly for Liverpool throughout pre-season, and the 18-year-old defender could have a role to play in Slot’s squad in 2025-26.
The defender came through the youth ranks at West Ham before signing for the Reds in 2023.
His progression continued after signing a professional deal with the club in 2024.
His talent has already been spotted by England, playing for the U18 and U19 teams in the last two years.
Nallo has already been named on the bench for Liverpool during his short career, and he finally gained first-team minutes after coming off the bench in a 3-2 Champions League defeat against PSV.
However, he endured a debut to forget after being sent off just four minutes after coming off the bench.
But, it appears Slot still has huge faith in the central defender.
