Jarrod Bowen is in the form of life at West Ham United. The striker has scored goals for fun this term and was recalled to Gareth Southgate’s England team back in October.
Bowen’s Brilliant Form
West Ham’s No. 20 recently broke the Premier League record of scoring in successive away games. Bowen’s goal at Brentford in November was his sixth strike in as many away fixtures for the Hammers. He was also on target in West Ham’s priceless 2-1 win against rivals Tottenham Hotspur in early December.
Bowen had a season to remember last time around, scoring the winning goal for West Ham in the UEFA Europa Conference League final. He played a huge role in that competition, netting six times.
Hammers Looking for More European Football
West Ham are looking for a top-six finish, but the battle for a European place in this season’s Premier League will be tough. Still, the Irons are in the mix as we enter the busy festive schedule. Looking at the online sports betting odds, West Ham are currently priced at odds of 14/1 to secure a place in the Premier League’s top six.
United, in contrast, have had a mixed bag of results so far this term. They booked their place in the knockout phase of the UEFA Europa League after another strong group stage in Europe. On the flip side, they conceded five against Fulham in the Premier League, and Liverpool put five past them in the Carabao Cup recently.
There have been several bright sparks for the Hammers this term, but Bowen has been the standout. Now a fully-fledged England international, the striker has been sensational in the heart of West Ham’s attack, scoring big goals against the likes of Brighton & Hove Albion, Nottingham Forest, and Spurs. He was also on target against Arsenal in the cup.
From Hereford to the England National Team
Bowen’s form last season earned him a call-up to the England national team for the first time. He made his senior debut against Hungary and was praised for his performance. In addition, he’s racked up five caps for England and could play a part at UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany.

Bowen had trials at Cardiff City and Aston Villa as a youth player but failed to make the grade with either. He then signed for his hometown club, Hereford United, before earning a high-profile move to Hull City in 2014.
Bowen spent six successful years at the home of the Tigers, winning various individual accolades and being named in the EFL Team of the Season in 2018-19. Due to his fine displays at Hull, West Ham paid a reported fee of £22 million to bring him to the London Stadium in 2020.

Since being knocked back by Villa and Cardiff, Bowen has been on quite the rise. He’s become a massive hit with the West Ham fans and is now one of the club’s most important players. The England international has been in outstanding form this season, and the 27-year-old could have a role to play for Southgate’s Three Lions next summer.
