FPL Managers Move For Phil Foden
Manchester City’s Phil Foden was quickly identified as a risky asset after only playing a total of 15 minutes in the first three Premier League games of the season.
His first start came against derby rivals Manchester United in Gameweek 4, which saw Phil Foden playing the full 90 minutes and ending the game with 12 FPL points.
Since then, Foden has started every Premier League match for Manchester City and has scored three goals and registered one assist in 10 games.
He started the season with a price tag of £8.0m and has since seen an increase of £0.1m.
He is only one of six Manchester City players who have seen an increase in price this season, with Erling Haaland, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Nico O’Reilly, Rúben Dias, and Jérémy Doku also having seen increased price tags.
Foden scored early on against Leeds in Gameweek 13 in a game which saw City surrender a 2.0 lead.
The game was destined for a draw, but Foden stepped up in stoppage time to seal the win for his club.
Phil Foden now has an xG expected goals of 2.45 and an xA expected assists of 2.03.
Both his xG and xA rank in the top two for Manchester City.
With upcoming fixtures against Fulham, Sunderland, Crystal Palace, and West Ham, it is no wonder that FPL managers have identified Foden as someone who can make a real difference during the festive period, as Foden is the most transferred-in forward leading up to Gameweek 14.
Trevoh Chalobah Vs Maxence Lacroix
Two defenders that have near-identical FPL profiles are Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah and Crystal Palace’s Maxence Lacroix.
Both defenders have accumulated a total of 70 FPL points.
Lacroix is priced at £5.1m, and Chalobah is slightly more expensive at £5.2m.
With Chalobah being owned by 9.8 percent of managers and Lacroix owned by 5.7 percent of managers globally, which one is actually performing better on the pitch?
Chalobah has made 12 appearances this season, scoring three goals.
Maxence Lacroix has made 13 appearances, registering two assists.
Even though Chalobah has more attacking returns, Lacroix is actually busier in the opposition box, having had 19 touches in the opposition box compared to eight from Chalobah.
Chalobah does move the ball around more frequently than Lacroix, having played a total of 814 passes compared to 536 from Lacroix.
He has also completed more through balls than Lacroix, with three compared to one.
Lacroix has won more duels than Chalobah, with 69 ground duels and 33 aerial duels won.
Chalobah has won 57 ground duels and 29 aerial duels.
Lacroix has made a total of 137 defensive contributions this season, with Chalobah having made 95.
When it comes to discipline, Chalobah has received two yellow cards and one red card this season, while Lacroix has only seen one yellow card so far.
With both defenders having kept six clean sheets so far, it will be interesting to see which one of these two players finishes the season with more FPL points.

Final Thoughts
Gameweek 14 arrives just days after Gameweek 13, leaving Fantasy Premier League managers with very little time to adjust their squads.
The short turnaround increases the impact of fatigue and rotation, making up to the minute monitoring and careful decision making essential.
Managers will need to consider player workload, recent form, and fixture difficulty when setting their lineups.
Some players are showing consistent returns, while others may become differential options due to the compressed schedule.
Paying attention to underlying statistics and recent performances can help distinguish reliable long-term picks from short-lived trends.
Fixtures play a key role this week. Teams with promising runs may offer sustained value, while others face challenging matches that require flexible planning.
Balancing immediate returns with overall squad stability is crucial during this period.
Budget-friendly options continue to deliver across multiple positions, providing the flexibility needed to adapt quickly to injuries, rotation, or fatigue.
These players can help maintain squad depth while maximising points potential.
As Gameweek 14 gets underway, stay attentive to press conferences, monitor rotation risks, and back players with secure roles and strong underlying numbers.
Smart, measured decisions will help navigate the congested schedule and set your squad up for success.
Here’s to a gameweek of confident choices, well-timed transfers, and a captain who brings home the points.
