  2. Jordan Pickford remains second with 6 points
  3. David Raya rivals him with 6 points

Defenders:

  1. Riccardo Calafiori remains first with 9.3 points
  2. Trevoh Chalobah moves to second with 9 points
  3. Jurriën Timber  drops to third with 8.7 points

  1. Enzo Fernández jumps to first with 8.3 points
  2. Antoine Semenyo drops to second with 7.7 points
  3. Jack Grealish moves to third with 7.3 points

Forwards:

  1. João Pedro moves to first with 8.7 points
  2. Erling Haaland is second with 8 points
  3. Hugo Ekitiké drops to third with 7.3 points

Jack Grealish Selections Rise

Everton fans will undoubtedly be more than happy with the contributions of Jack Grealish so far, following his arrival on Merseyside from Manchester City.

Since his first kick of the ball for the Toffees, Grealish has been involved in almost everything positive about Everton’s performances this season.

This may have come as a surprise to some Everton fans, while his FPL performances have certainly been an even bigger surprise for the majority of FPL managers.

Jack Grealish is leading the charts in more ways than one.

He currently has an xA (expected assists) of 1.29, higher than any other player in the league.

His actual contributions in terms of assists show that he is not underperforming in this area, as he leads the assist charts with four, which is double the total of those directly below him.

In Gameweek 1, Grealish played only 19 minutes, earning a single FPL point on his Everton debut.

However, in Gameweek 2 he played the full 90 minutes and registered two assists.

In his most recent outing against Wolves, he played 87 minutes and added another two assists.

Currently priced at £6.7m, Grealish has already risen by £0.2m.

He has also seen a significant rise in ownership, as he is currently the most transferred-in player ahead of Gameweek 4.

With a current total of 22 FPL points, it will be interesting to see if Jack Grealish can maintain his form in the coming weeks, as Everton face Aston Villa at home, Liverpool away, and West Ham at home in their next three fixtures.

Confidence In Chris Wood Decreases Among FPL Managers

News of Nuno Espírito Santo parting ways with Nottingham Forest broke in recent days, and former Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou was quickly announced as his replacement.

While an abrupt change in management is never ideal for any football club, FPL managers who have been feeling let down by Chris Wood may have been pushed over the edge by these events.

Chris Wood started the season in a way that suggested his form from last season was set to continue, as he scored two goals against Brentford in Forest’s opening game.

His price almost immediately rose from £7.5m to £7.7m, but his performances since then have looked uninspiring for FPL managers who selected him.

In Forest’s last two Premier League matches, Wood failed to make a single attacking contribution against Crystal Palace and West Ham, collecting a total of four FPL points across those fixtures.

Nottingham Forest’s next game is a difficult one, as they travel to the Emirates to face Arsenal.

The two matches that follow look more favourable, as Forest will face newly promoted Burnley and Sunderland in consecutive games.

Chris Wood is currently the most transferred-out forward ahead of the new gameweek, as FPL managers seem to believe that his recent performances, combined with the changes at Nottingham Forest, signal too much of a risk to keep him as an asset.

Things could look very different in a few weeks, as we have seen in the past how attacking Ange Postecoglou’s teams can be.

If Ange can create a smooth transition and implement his style of football effectively, Chris Wood might still deliver a significant number of goals this season.

When Can FPL Managers Expect Alexander Isak To Play?

The biggest deal of the transfer window was completed on deadline day, as Liverpool finally secured the services of Swedish international Alexander Isak.

The transfer saga dragged on for most of the window, but Isak is now a Liverpool player, and FPL managers can begin to view him as a viable option again.

The main question for those considering bringing Isak into their teams is when he will be fit and ready to play for Liverpool in the Premier League.

While we have not heard directly from Arne Slot on this matter, it seems likely that this weekend’s fixture against Burnley will come too soon for Isak.

That is not to say he will not feature at all, as he might get a few minutes off the bench late in the game, but a starting role appears unlikely.

Liverpool’s next match is the Merseyside derby, a high-intensity encounter that is always a highlight.

While Isak may get some minutes, it is doubtful that he will be able to play the full 90 in that match either.

It is worth noting that Hugo Ekitiké has not played a full 90 minutes for Liverpool in any of their Premier League fixtures so far, so Isak’s early involvement may come in the form of Ekitiké being substituted around the 75th minute in the next couple of games.

After the derby against Everton, Liverpool face Southampton in the EFL Cup on 23 September.

This could provide Isak with an ideal opportunity to make his first start and complete a full 90 minutes as a Liverpool player.

Although this remains speculation, the most likely scenario is that Isak’s first Premier League start will come in Gameweek 6 against Crystal Palace or in Gameweek 7 against Chelsea.

Many FPL managers who activated their Wildcard during the last week have already included Isak in their squads.

While that may not be a poor decision for those wanting him in their squads as soon as he is fully fit, starting him in the next two gameweeks could be a risky move.

Morgan Gibbs-White Vs Omar Marmoush

Two FPL midfield options who are both fully capable of delivering attacking returns, Morgan Gibbs-White and Omar Marmoush, seem to be flying under the radar in terms of ownership so far this season.

Gibbs-White is currently priced at £7.5m and is owned by only 5.7% of FPL managers.

Marmoush is priced at £8.4m and is owned by only 7.4%.

So, how do these two midfield options compare when we look at them head-to-head?

So far, both players have made three appearances this season, but Gibbs-White has played significantly more minutes than Marmoush.

Morgan has played 256 minutes compared to Omar’s 150.

Gibbs-White has played more than 80 minutes in every Premier League game so far, while Marmoush featured for 24 minutes against Wolves, 53 minutes against Spurs, and 71 minutes against Brighton.

While Gibbs-White’s minutes have been consistent, Marmoush’s playing time has been increasing each game.

In terms of contributions on the pitch, both players have only registered a single attacking return in the form of one assist each.

While neither has scored a goal yet, Gibbs-White has recorded two shots on target inside the box for Forest and one from outside the box.

Marmoush has produced one shot on target inside the box for City and two from outside.

Gibbs-White has an expected goals (xG) value of 0.64, while Marmoush’s xG is slightly higher at 0.82.

Omar has also managed 15 touches in the opposition box, compared to 11 for Morgan.

Their expected assists (xA) are identical, both sitting at 0.46.

Each has completed two through balls, while Gibbs-White has completed five dribbles and Marmoush has completed seven.

Both have also won three tackles, and neither has received a yellow card to date.

It will be interesting to see which of these two assets finishes the season with more FPL points, and whether either one’s ownership increases in the coming weeks.

Top 3 FPL Gameweek 3 Captain Picks:

  1. Mohamed Salah vs Burnley

Differential Captain Pick Of The Week

With a home fixture against newly promoted Sunderland on the cards for gameweek 4, Jean-Philippe Mateta could be an excellent shout as a differential captaincy option, according to our fantasy tips for GW4.

Final Thoughts

With Gameweek 3 complete, FPL managers now turn their attention to the next round of fixtures.

Three weeks of data provide a clearer picture, but it is still early in the season.

Do not rush into drastic moves based on one bad performance.

Consistency and patience with proven players often bring the best rewards.

At the same time, the transfer window has closed, which means new signings could soon become key assets.

Keep an eye on how they are integrated into their teams and whether they earn regular minutes.

Early adopters of the right player can gain an advantage before prices rise.

Fixture swings are also becoming more important.

Assess which teams are entering a good run and which are about to face tougher opponents.

Planning a few weeks ahead can often save you from unnecessary hits later on.

As always, stay updated with press conferences, injury news, and team selections before making your final choices.

Good luck for Gameweek 4.

May your transfers pay off and your captain bring home plenty of points.
