Luis Hasa recently joined SSC Napoli from Lecce for a reported fee of €500k.
While Hasa played just once with US Lecce in a Coppa Italia game and has not yet truly shown his talent in Serie A, his signing is expected to add squad depth to Antonio Conte’s side for the remainder of this Serie A season.
His signing follows the departure of PSG’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who has been replaced by the Brazilian David Neres but can also be replaced by Hasa if he can convince Conte of his talent.
Swiss international Noah Okafor also came to Napoli from AC Milan during this winter transfer window.
Given that Okafor has already played as a left-winger at Milan, he may also challenge for that role.
While Hasa is inexperienced in Serie A, he used to play in Juventus’ youth system, playing in all their youth sectors, including Juventus U19, before playing with Juventus Next Gen in Serie C.
Hasa was selected as the UEFA European Under-19 Championship’s Player of the Tournament in 2023, which clearly proves that this player has been a standout at the youth level.
Given that background, Napoli believe that Hasa has the talent needed to play top-level football in Italy.
This tactical analysis and scout report will explore Luis Hasa’s profile, playmaking, and goalscoring traits.
We will also explore how he can fit into Antonio Conte’s tactics this season to help Napoli in their marathon towards the Serie A title.
The analysis will also identify his possible roles and the positions that he can occupy at Napoli based on his skills and the squad’s depth.
Luis Hasa Style Of Play & Positions
Throughout his career, Hasa has played as a central midfielder, left midfielder, right midfielder, winger, advanced playmaker, and forward.
Hasa’s abilities allow him to be more efficient and successful as a midfielder, winger or advanced playmaker but not as a forward since he does not really have the abilities needed for that position, especially in Serie A.
The following heat map highlights Hasa’s positions throughout his career and shows he has played more on the left wing and as a left midfielder than at any other position.
But with Napoli having players like Neres and Okafor on that wing plus confirmed, solid, and almost irreplaceable midfielders like Frank Anguissa, former Man United’s Scott McTominay, and Stanislav Lobotka, it will be very complicated for Hasa to find sufficient playing time to showcase his abilities in midfield or on the wing.
That’s why Hasa should exploit every small opportunity.
He needs to remain motivated and concentrated to make the impact needed when he gets subbed in.
Luis Hasa Heat Map
That being said, it is probable that Hasa will get some playing time soon since Conte started experimenting with his preferred 3-5-2 formation lately, as seen in the game against Lazio.
This opens new doors for someone like Hasa to find new opportunities since this formation always needs reliable and dynamic wingers/wing-backs and midfielders.
In this last game, Conte tried Pasquale Mazzocchi on the left wing as David Neres has been injured lately.
These circumstances invite and encourage Hasa to convince in training and oblige Conte to try him in that position since Neres is currently unavailable.
Hasa has some very positive attacking traits that require attention since he was very successful last season in terms of dribbling success rate and goal contribution per game compared to what was expected of him.
Also, Hasa is very positive inside the final third.
He shoots a lot and does not hesitate when he has good shooting opportunities, making him a dangerous midfielder or winger.
Moreover, being an attacking player with excellent passing accuracy rates and above-average success rates in terms of successful progressive passes means that Hasa has a lot of playmaking potential that he needs to confirm in Serie A, knowing that these statistics are taken from his Juventus Next Gen performances.

Luis Hasa Playmaking Abilities
Hasa’s overall passing accuracy reached 84.9% and passes to the final third equalled 81%.
Thus, we can argue that Hasa has been excellent in terms of passing in Serie C and with the Italian U19 team.
His agility and ability to provide accurate key passes on most occasions make him very valuable for his team in attack.
Moreover, his outstanding dribbling flair and ability to surpass opponents in one-on-one duels with relative ease make him a dangerous attacking player capable of causing a threat at any time.
The following assist example showcases Hasa’s ability to create danger out of nowhere, relying mainly on his agility and dribbling skills.
He also provides key passes to his teammates even when in complex situations or when stuck in tight spaces, like in this case.
This type of accurate key-through pass at the back of the defensive line is always needed and can be very helpful when facing teams that defend well.
Hasa masters this type of pass and can be reliable in this regard, especially when coming centrally towards the box.
Hasa Key Passing Assist
Moreover, Hasa often comes with creative passing ideas that defenders do not necessarily expect or succeed in anticipating.
This unpredictability factor makes Hasa so precious in the playmaking phase, especially regarding the final pass, which he masters remarkably.
This assist example clearly shows that he can get away from his opponents and still be able to provide an assist to the least expected destination using an exterior part of the foot pass that was not expected at all.
In fact, everyone expected him to either pass the ball to the player near him or control it before making the decision.
Instead, Hasa decided to win time and surprise everyone with a creative pass to the player on his right, allowing him to be completely unmarked in front of goal.
Hasa Creative Passing
In addition to his short passing and key passing abilities, Hasa proved on numerous occasions that he can be extremely dangerous thanks to his accurate crosses and long passes, with a 61.9% accuracy rate that highlights his talent in this regard.
The following assist example showcases Hasa’s dangerous crosses from the left wing and his ability to serve his teammates in a very direct and quick way that does not leave time for defenders to anticipate his crosses.
Luis Hasa Crossing Ability
Luis Hasa Shooting & Goalscoring Ability
Regarding goalscoring, we should mention that Hasa has been a reliable set-piece taker for both Juventus U19 and Italy U19, knowing he could score numerous free-kicks, especially those near the box.
Moreover, Hasa relies mainly on shooting accuracy and usually orients his shots in a very angled way, which makes up for the lack of power in some of his shots.
This left-footed shot, for instance, was very oriented towards the upper-left corn, which helped Hasa score this goal since he knows that his left-footed shots cannot be as powerful as his right-footed ones.
Nevertheless, knowing how to deal with such situations successfully and scoring goals even when put in complicated shooting situations is a sign that Hasa can find goalscoring solutions when needed.
Hasa’s Left-Footed Goal Against Benfica
That being said, Hasa has also proved that he can use power when needed and knows how to deal with second balls.
He has scored goals from such situations in the past and has a high average in scoring from such situations.
This goal example highlights his ability to shoot with power in second-ball situations and to combine precision and power.
Yet, Hasa will not find the same ease when dealing with such shooting situations.
Since opponents are much more aggressive when defending and spaces are tighter in Serie A, he will need to adapt to this upgrade of leagues and be quicker and more decisive in all of his actions to make the impact needed in the games that he will participate in.
Conclusion
Luis Hasa has the potential to succeed at Napoli if he gets the needed playing time to showcase his clear talent developed in his youth career.
Being an intelligent player will surely help him understand Conte’s instructions quickly and eventually become useful in Napoli’s system.
Patience, hard work, and exploitation of his chances will be essential for him to succeed and be impactful in the second half of the 2024/2025 Serie A season.
However, being on the bigger stage against more formidable opponents, he must work harder to become physically more powerful to resist Serie A’s defences if he wants to truly succeed.
