Three Strikers Who Could Be On The Move This Summer: Delap, Isak, and Šeško

Three Strikers Who Could Be On The Move This Summer: Delap, Isak, and Šeško

Many top teams will seek a top striker during the summer transfer window.

Arsenal will be looking for the final piece of the puzzle, Liverpool are rumoured to be looking at a striker, and Barcelona need to prepare for life after Lewandowski.

The options of available strikers are becoming as limited as ever; however, there are three strikers on everyone’s dream list at the moment.

Fortunes can change fast in football.

One minute, you’re trying to make a name for yourself; the next, you’re being talked about as if the world’s top clubs are practically falling over themselves to offer you untold riches.

That, at least, is the curious case of Liam Delap, Aleksandar Isak, and Benjamin Šeško.

Three young strikers with talent to spare and futures that could very well shape the attacking landscape of European football over the next decade.

Could one of these players end up at Barcelona or Real Madrid? Bayern Munich, perhaps?

Now, for those whose Saturdays are spent scrutinising not just scorelines but potential transfer news, these three names have been knocking around in conversations for some time.

The odds look good on that one, and potentially, all of these strikers will join new clubs next season.

With rumours already starting, some bookmakers will have odds for their moves this summer.

It’s important to compare the best betting sites to find not only the most competitive odds but also the latest transfer specials and player market insights for when the time comes.

Despite all being lumped together under the banner of promising young forwards, their approaches to the beautiful game are as different as chalk and cheese.

Liam Delap: Raw Power And Relentless Drive

Liam Delap has the sort of build that could have seen him just as easily lining up at the front of a rugby scrum as a Premier League forward.

Strong, direct, and with a shot like a railway signalman’s hammer, he prefers a good clattering of the opposition centre-back to tika-taka—except, we know Delap can do both.

The hallmark of Delap’s game is his physicality, and while some might see him as a relic of an increasingly bygone age, there’s more than just brute strength to the lad.

His positioning is intelligent, and he is willing to press, harass, and bully defenders into mistakes.

It’s a style that suits the cut-and-thrust of English football well, but whether it could see him thrive abroad is another question entirely.

With opportunities in the Manchester City first team few and far between, Delap backed himself with a £20 million move to Ipswich last summer.

It was a gamble that paid off, with Delap already scoring 10 Premier League goals this season.

If Ipswich, as expected, go down, we don’t expect Delap to join them in the Championship.

Alexander Isak: Grace And Guile

If Delap is a wrecking ball, Alexandar Isak resembles a scalpel.

Long-limbed and lithe, he plays with a fluidity that’s as effortless as effective.

A touch here, a feint there, and suddenly, he’s slipped through a gap where no gap ought to have been.

Isak’s game is built on finesse and technique rather than raw strength.

He’s the sort of forward who drifts between the lines, making himself difficult to mark and creating opportunities for teammates as much as for himself.

Only a fool would doubt his goalscoring pedigree.

He found the back of the net 25 times in all competitions last season, and he’s on course to break that record, with 22 by mid-March.

Newcastle’s financial situation is somewhat opaque, so it’s hard to know whether they need to sell their star man.

However, a nine-figure bid might make their stance clearer.

Arsenal have been linked with Isak and faces stiff competition from Liverpool, but it’s hard to imagine Newcastle selling to a domestic rival.

Benjamin Šeško: The Slovenian Starlet

Benjamin Šeško, meanwhile, is rather more difficult to pin down.

There’s a versatility to his game that makes him hard to categorise, even if his potential has been clear to anyone who’s watched him terrorise defences across Europe.

Tall and deceptively agile, Šeško has that uncanny knack of being in the right place at the right time.

He’s the youngest of the trio, but there’s a maturity to his play that goes beyond his years.

Comfortable with the ball at his feet and capable of leading the line or playing off another striker, his game is characterised by a blend of instinct and intelligence.

His time in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig shows that he can jump in quality in his stride, with 35 goals in 77 appearances in all competitions since moving there in 2023.

Much like Delap and Isak, there’s a question of how long he’ll be content with his current surroundings.

Whether he’ll make the leap to one of Europe’s bigger leagues sooner rather than later remains to be seen.

Transfers On The Horizon

What all three have in common, however, is that sense of inevitability.

The sense that they’re all, in their own ways, waiting for the right offer to come along and sweep them off to grander things.

Clubs with money to spend and ambition to match are hardly blind to their talents, and the summer transfer window can turn speculation into something more concrete.

There will be many bets on the transfer market this summer, and it’s not hard to see why these three names constantly come up in the chat about upcoming moves.

It’s easy to imagine Delap thriving on a Premier League side and competing for a European place.

Isak, meanwhile, feels like he’s on the cusp of making that jump to an elite club that can offer the style of play to bring out the very best in him.

And Šeško, with his adaptability and flair, may find himself the subject of frenzied interest from all corners.

The football world may be fickle, and transfer rumours, more often than not, prove to be little more than hot air.

But every so often, those whispers and murmurs turn into reality.

And when it comes to Delap, Isak, and Šeško, one suspects that change is very much on the cards.
