Pio Esposito 34'
Piotr Zieliński 54'
Inter needed 8 minutes to take control at Stadion Feijenoord on Tuesday night. Bisseck scored from Spence’s assist, Esposito doubled the lead before half-time and Zieliński finished the job early in the second half as Cristian Chivu’s side beat Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Feyenoord in the Champions League.
Bisseck and Esposito put Inter two up by the 34th minute
The visitors started with an early setback when Çalhanoğlu was booked for a foul in the 3rd minute. It did not slow them. Five minutes later Bisseck turned in Spence’s delivery to open the scoring.
Esposito added the second in the 34th minute, and the 90-minute display earned him a rating of 7.72. Tempers then flared briefly. Akanji and Zechiël were both shown yellow cards for arguing in the 39th minute, and Inter went in 2-0 up.
Zieliński rated 8.2 after sealing it in the 54th minute
The third goal came nine minutes after the restart. Barella set up Zieliński, who took his chance to put the result beyond doubt. Zieliński was rated 8.2, the highest on the pitch, before making way after 78 minutes. Barella, who also played 78 minutes, created 3 chances and was rated 7.7.
Feyenoord had more of the ball, with 53% possession and 596 passes to Inter’s 528. Both sides took 11 shots. The difference was accuracy: Inter put 6 on target, Feyenoord only 2. Inter’s goalkeeper had just 2 saves to make, while Feyenoord’s was called on 4 times.
The expected goals figures tell a similar story. Inter scored 3 goals from 1.21 expected, while Feyenoord generated 0.77 and could not find a way past Josep Martínez. Van Bronckhorst’s side also won 13 free kicks to Inter’s 6, but got nothing from them.
Feyenoord winless in four as Inter recover from Milan defeat
The win was a good response from Inter after their 3-1 derby defeat to AC Milan. It is their fifth win in six matches across all competitions, following victories over Venezia, Fiorentina, Shakhtar Donetsk and Bologna.
Feyenoord are heading the other way. They have not won in four games, with draws against Fortuna Sittard and PSV Eindhoven between defeats to Real Betis and Inter. Their last win was a 4-3 victory over Telstar.
This fixture keeps going Inter’s way. The Italian side won 2-0 in Rotterdam on 5 March 2025 and 2-1 at home on 11 March 2025. That makes three wins from three against Feyenoord.
Both clubs are back in league action on Sunday 8 November. Feyenoord travel to Heerenveen in the Eredivisie, while Inter host Como in Serie A.
