Premier League 2021/22: Southampton vs Liverpool - data viz, stats and insights

The final game week of the 2021/22 Premier League season has rolled around with plenty still undecided. With a title race going down to the wire and both teams very much still in the picture, top-4 and Champions League qualification still not finalised, and a relegation battle that seems to just keep twisting and turning, this weekend’s fixtures will finally provide the answers.

Total Football Analysis has taken a look at the full list of fixtures and provides you with betting tips for the last time this season…

Manchester City v Aston Villa Betting Tips

A draw last time out at West Ham means that the title race runs down to the final game of the season with Pep’s Man City hosting none other than Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa. Should Pep’s men drop points here, word will quickly travel down the M62 where Jurgen Klopp’s side will undoubtedly be waiting.

In spite of a poor performance last time out, City’s reaction since their Champions League exit has been a ruthless one. Aston Villa on the other hand put in an impressive display against none other than Liverpool after a string of good form. Despite this, expect City to have too much quality, experience, and desire here for Villa to match and a convincing home win by 2 or more goals should be the way to go at 11/10 to find value.

Liverpool v Wolves Betting Tips

While Steven Gerrard tries to produce for his former side the most valuable of favours, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool team must focus on their own jobs and not be distracted by outside factors. With two trophies in the cabinet already and a Champions League final on the horizon, it is important to finish with a flourish after bouncing back following a disappointing draw with Spurs.

Wolves meanwhile have had European hopes fall short just before the final hurdle as West Ham put their Europa League disappointment behind them. With nothing particularly to play for, Wolves find themselves in a position to bring a game to Liverpool without much stress. With the pressure on Liverpool to find the opener, Wolves could find success in moments throughout the game. Despite this, expect the hosts to display why they are fighting for trophies on all fronts and a win with both teams to score at 7/4 is the value bet in this fixture.

How do you see the final leg of the title race playing out? Place a £10 wager on a double from the Manchester City and Liverpool fixtures and receive £50 in free bets here.

Burnley v Newcastle Betting Tips

After an impressive win against Champions League-chasing Arsenal, Eddie Howe’s Newcastle travel to relegation-threatened Burnley for their final game of the season. With the pressure firmly on the home side to produce a result, caretaker manager Mike Jackson has to find a return to the early form under his reign as they won three games on the run to give them hope of survival.

While Newcastle players will have their sights set on next season, the reception they will be due at Turf Moor given the home side’s predicament you would expect only further play against the travelling Toon side. It feels like a game of grit against quality in this fixture with a draw here at 12/5 should be the way to go.

Brentford v Leeds Betting Tips

Similarly to the Burnley and Newcastle fixture, this fixture puts two teams in different situations against each other, as Brentford enjoy comfortable safety while Leeds remain deeply in a relegation fight. A vital late Leeds equaliser last weekend gives the Yorkshire side renewed hope that they can beat the drop, but they must take on a determined Brentford side first.

The Brentford home faithful will be keen to see their side off on a positive note after a successful first season in the Premier League, and after a battling win away at Goodison Park last weekend they will be further confident of a win here. With home support and the pressure off, this fixture feels like the odds could firmly be against Leeds here as relegation looms. The home win at 5/4 looks the way to go putting Leeds in serious trouble.

Include a home win in your acca and receive £50 in free bets when you wager £10 with bet365.

Arsenal v Everton Betting Tips

Arsenal let themselves down against Newcastle on Monday with the North London hangover clear after a dismantling by Tottenham. After losing their grasp on their top-4 fate, the Gunners are in need of a reaction and quickly. They face an Everton side deep in a relegation fight, though they are now without two players following a poorly-disciplined showing against Brentford.

Light in reinforcements and with silly errors beginning to creep in as the pressure continues to mount, the experienced in the Everton squad will be needed to step forward here. Arsenal’s late-season derailment should prove timely for Frank Lampard’s side and an away win at 5/1 provides quite some value considering Everton’s strong performances against the top sides in the league.

Bet £10 on Lampard to guide his Everton side to safety and get £50 in free bets with bet365.

Premier League

With relegation already sealed for Norwich, and Spurs with their Champions League qualification in their own hands, expect the away side to make no mistake as they look to seal a top-4 spot. Antonio Conte’s side have hit form at just the right time and the away win at 2/9 looks to be the only route to go here.

A spirited 2-2 draw with the champions-elect Manchester City sees West Ham enter the final game of the season hoping Manchester United lose in order to qualify for the Europa League. With the job not in their own hands, West Ham must concentrate on themselves as they travel to a Brighton team with just one win in their last six. Two well-matched teams here, with the pressure off the home side, expect a draw and David Moyes’ Hammers to fall just short of the Europa League places at 5/2.

With both of these sides without a result to play for, Chelsea come into this tie looking for a positive send-off in what has been a turbulent year. Performances of late have been promising, however, another cup final loss to Liverpool will hurt. With Watford already relegated and in torrid form, the home win here certainly looks the smart bet, but at 1/6 you can find more value with Chelsea -1 at 1/2 which will reward you with £50 in free bets when you place a £10 stake with bet365.

Crystal Palace come into this fixture as the form side as Ralph Ragnick’s Manchester United continue to cause themselves problems. Disappointing defeats and dropped points put Manchester United needing a win still to seal Europa League football next season, while Patrick Viera’s Palace side can play without pressure.

United have come undone in similar fixtures away from home, with Brighton dismantling them with ease, and so expect this one to not be as straightforward as the United fans would hope. A draw at 13/5 looks like the best value bet here, and if you place a £10 wager you can receive £50 in free bets.

Leicester and Southampton both find themselves without a result to play for in the final game of the season and so expect the reins to be off in this one. Rodgers’ side will be keen to send their fans home on a positive note after a disappointing season, while Southampton have narrowly escaped a relegation fight this season and will be relieved to see the back of 2021/22. Expect a home win here at 10/11 to provide value for any accumulator.

Stake £10 on any TFA tip and receive £50 in free bets when you bet with bet365.
