The UEFA Champions League groups for the 2020-21 competition were drawn recently and there have already been some great ties to have been produced.
Fans and bettors will be licking their lips at the prospect of being able to watch some of the upcoming matches, whilst those that fancy placing wagers on the action could look to use sites such as https://s-bobet.com/ to try and provide themselves with some nice winnings in midweek.
Group A: Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, FC Salzburg and Lokomotiv Moscow
Bayern Munich are the defending champions of the competition and will be considered by many to be favourites to win the tournament again, especially after a strong transfer window. Atletico Madrid, though, will be looking to try and topple them in their group matches as Diego Simeone will want to see his side match the Germans with everything they do. These two sides should be able to overcome FC Salzburg and Lokomotiv Moscow and advance to the next round.
Group B: Real Madrid, Shakhtar Donetsk, Inter Milan and Borussia Monchengladbach
Real Madrid will want to improve on last season’s competition and having won La Liga last season, Zinedine Zidane’s side will fancy their chances. However, they have a rather strong group with Inter Milan, Borussia Monchengladbach and Shakhtar Donetsk and fixtures could prove rather testing. Paper would suggest the Spaniards and the Italian’s to go through, but all four have a reasonable chance.
Group C: Porto, Manchester City, Olympiakos and Olympique Marseille
Manchester City, arguably, have one of the easier draws this season as they will be heavily favoured to qualify from a group that contains Porto, Olympiakos and Olympique Marseille. Porto, though, will likely finish second, although the other sides could challenge them all the way.
Group D: Liverpool, Ajax, Atalanta and FC Midtjylland
Liverpool will likely be considered favourites to win this Group, leaving Ajax and Atalanta to fight it out for second place. Atalanta surprised many with their performances last season and Ajax have lost a plethora of their stars recently, which may benefit the Serie A outfit.
Group E: Sevilla, Chelsea, Krasnodar and Rennes
Chelsea and Sevilla should manage to qualify from this particular group with some ease, with the two sides only facing a stern test against each other. Rennes have been significantly depleted of quality this summer, with the Blues taking their former shot-stopper from them, whereas Krasnodar might just not be strong enough to provide a real challenge. However, travelling to Russia can not be taken lightly by any side.
Group F: Zenit St. Petersburg, Borussia Dortmund, Lazio and Club Brugge
With Erling Braut Haaland and Jadon Sancho still at Borussia Dortmund, the Bundesliga outfit will need to be considered the favourites to win this group. Second could be a little more debatable, although SS Lazio may be best positioned to finish in that place, especially with the likes of Ciro Immobile available.
Group G: Juventus, Barcelona, Dynamo Kiev and Ferencvaros
One of the highlights of the UCL group stages will be the faceoff between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as Juventus and Barcelona have been drawn together. Although the two greats have met many times in the past in Spain, this will be the first time they are pitted against each other in a UCL group stage. Both of the sides will want to improve on disappointing campaigns last season and will likely prove too much for Dynamo Kyiv and Ferencvaros.
Group H: Paris Saint Germain, Manchester United, Red Bull Leipzig and Istanbul Basaksehir
You have to feel sorry for Istanbul Basaksehir in this group, as their three opponents all appear to have the ability to do well in the competition. Manchester United and Red Bull Leipzig will likely battle it out for the remaining place in the group as last year’s runners-up, PSG, will likely top the group.
