Anyone who has watched the Bundesliga, or even knows very little about German football, will know that FC Bayern Munich has dominated the league for what would seem like its entire existence.
Of course, the Bavarians are currently enjoying a spell of nine in a row, which happens to be a record-breaking streak, and many would not put it past them turning that run into ten. Indeed, there are some great Bundesliga odds available that would suggest that the behemoths of German football would be successful in doing just that under the guidance of Julian Naglesmann for the very first time.
However, it would seem that there are a few that are getting rather bored about how Die Roten is continuing to dominate the nation’s domestic football scene, with fans and players alike wishing it would come to an end to try and make the Bundesliga appear more attractive around Europe and the rest of the world.
RB Leipzig’s Tyler Adams is one player who has made his feelings well-known, as he told The Athletic previously: “Nothing – nothing – gets me more angry than the fact that all the German clubs just sell to [Bayern]. Like, I can’t. I can’t. It boggles my mind, man.”
The American seems to have been joined by a rather legendary figure within German football recently, with Marco Reus another individual that has admitted to getting frustrated with the current situation and has vowed to try and change how things are.
Telling Sport1, he said: “My goal is to get the big thing with BVB. As long as I wear the BVB jersey and am captain of this team, I will do everything I can to bring the cup to Dortmund.”

The 32-year-old, who has been at Borussia Dortmund for much of his career after joining from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2012, has a number of individual awards to his name including being German Footballer of the Year twice, but he does not have any league honours to show for his career as of yet; he does have two DFB-Pokals and three DFL-Supercups in his trophy cabinet.
If there is a team that could potentially challenge Bayern Munich for the title and finally end the dominance that is being experienced, then BVB is perhaps the best team to be positioned to do that currently.
Borussia Dortmund currently has a number of stars available in their squad to cause a real challenge and make a title race go right down to the wire, with individuals such as Erling Haaland, Reus, Jude Bellingham, Donyell Malen, Gio Reyna and many others all performing consistently well and making the Black and Yellow a huge threat.
However, Reus has acknowledged that the Bavarians are incredibly consistent and that when the very few opportunities that present themselves occur, then his team needs to be ready to strike and take full advantage of them.
Dortmund currently sits second after 11 games so far but have already lost two more than Bayern, with the Bavarians sole defeat having been an incredible surprise when they were beaten by Eintracht Frankfurt. Since then, they have run the riot act on anybody that has stepped in their way.
