Solly March Scout Report At Brighton – Premier League 2022/2023

Brighton are playing some of the most beautiful football right now in the Premier League.

The transition from Graham Potter to Roberto De Zerbi has appeared seamless on the pitch.

One player who seems to be at the centre of this transition has been Solly March.

The 28-year-old, who has been at Brighton since their Championship days, has seen managers come and go and has improved under each one.

March seems to be the form of his life, and he has scored more goals this season in the league than in any other season before.

The radar below shows where Solly March ranks for some of the key metrics when compared with the other right-wing-backs in the league.

Throughout his career, March has played in different positions, and his versatility is one of his biggest strengths.

He has played as a left-wing back and on both the left and right sides of the front three.

Only two other outfield players from Brighton have played more minutes than March this season so far.

Offensively, he is among the very best players for Brighton this season, with four goals and four assists to his name.

His ability to cut inside from either side of the front three is one of his biggest strengths, and that move has quite often been very successful for March.

Looking at the radar above, March is very attacking, often found closer to the opposition’s penalty area.

Defensively, his numbers are not as high as one would expect, but with the style of play that Brighton have and with the midfield providing sufficient cover, March has the freedom to play upfront.

Playing an advanced role on his preferred right side has brought out the best in Solly March.

The 28-year-old has been to pivotal Brighton’s impressive run under De Zerbi this season.

His performance against Liverpool, especially, was one of the standouts, showing where March and Brighton are progressing under Roberto de Zerbi.

There is a lot more to come from Brighton, and especially from March.

If the Seagulls are to push for European places, some credit is undoubtedly due for the Englishman.
