Betting Tips: Premier League Match Day 28

After EFL Cup final disruption last weekend the Premier League is set to return with a full set of fixtures beginning on Saturday, as Leeds United travel to Leicester under new management. Read on for the best Premier League betting tips for matchday 28.

Burnley v Chelsea betting tips

After picking up just one point in back-to-back games last week, the Clarets failed to capitalise on clashes with Crystal Palace and Leicester. Sean Dyche will need to find some positives and quickly as Burnley need all the points they can get if they are to retain their Premier League status this year.

Fresh off their defeat to Liverpool in the final of the EFL Cup last weekend, and a testing task in the FA Cup at Luton, Chelsea are next to visit the. After making headlines during the penalties loss in the EFL Cup, it is unlikely that Kepa will be making an appearance in goal for Chelsea on Saturday. Although, it will be more interesting to see whether Thomas Tuchel perseveres with underperforming wantaway forward Romelu Lukaku, who has scored just five Premier League goals so far this season.

Wout Weghorst looks responsible for the home side’s attacking might after arriving from Wolfsburg during the January transfer window but it is Chelsea who will be the favourites here.

Odds of 4/9 for the away win are not that attractive but turn that selection into a win to nil at 6/5. Alternatively, back the home underdogs with £10 with bet365 and receive £50 in free bets.

Liverpool v West Ham Betting Tips

Both Liverpool and West Ham were occupied with FA Cup ties through the week with success for the Reds and disappointment for the Hammers. Liverpool, who are in devastating form at the moment, will be looking for a sixth consecutive Premier League victory. Whilst West Ham will be looking to pick up some more vital points in the race for a top four finish.

After securing the EFL Cup last weekend, Jürgen Klopp has dismissed talk of a quadruple this season despite remaining the only true challengers to Manchester City at the top of the Premier League. The reds also remain firmly in contention for both the FA Cup and Champions League after success so far. West Ham on the other hand will be attempting to avoid slipping out of the battle for the Champions League spots and a good performance at Anfield would definitely make a statement.

Liverpool are yet to lose at home this season and even odds of 9/1 for a West Ham victory seem hopeful at best. A Liverpool win and both teams to score is more likely, considering the quality of forwards on display – and that can be found at around 17/10.

The home side have scored nine goals in their last two games at Anfield, so odds of 13/10 for four or more goals might be of interest too. A £10 bet receives £50 in free bets with bet365.

Watford v Arsenal Betting Tips

Sunday sees Arsenal making the short trip into Hertfordshire to take on Watford at Vicarage Road. The Gunners have enjoyed an upturn in fortune under manager Arteta since the disappointing early months of the season, and are now able to concentrate entirely on the Premier League after crashing out of the FA Cup early on, and no European distractions either.

Watford, deep in a relegation fight season, will be looking to pick up just their second win in 14 games this weekend. The Nigerian striker Emmanuel Dennis has been one of the few bright spots for the Hornets this season and could team up with the exciting Ismaïla Sarr to provide some much needed attacking substance.

Watford are priced at 5/1 to win at home but they have one of the worst defensive records in the Premier League and may not be able to keep out a rejuvenated Arsenal forward line.  A Gunners win to nil is priced at 27/10, whilst under 2.5 total goals at 4/5 looks good.

Manchester City v Manchester United Betting Tips

Since Ralf Rangnick took over as interim manager at the beginning of December Manchester United have impressively only lost one game in all competitions. Despite this, there have been far too many draws to seriously challenge at the top and there still seems to be unhappiness in the squad over the way the team are playing.

Manchester City on the other hand are top of the Premier League and have looked impressive all season, despite a surprise home defeat to Spurs a couple of weeks ago. City will already know whether Liverpool have managed to close the gap at the top by the time this one kicks off and confidence will be flying as the blue side of Manchester look towards getting one over their local rivals.

Whilst City are regarded as the strong favourites here, United have enjoyed fixtures between the two in the last few years and odds of 15/4 for the draw look tempting. Manchester United to win and both teams to score looks even better at 12/1.

There haven’t been more than two goals scored in games between these two for over two years now, so total goals under 2.5 at 5/4 could be a smart bet if you just can’t picture a United victory.

£10 on either team to win the Manchester Derby with bet365 receives £50 in free bets.

Premier League Betting Tips – best of the rest

As the European places go this weekend’s Premier League’s fixtures, Everton’s trip to London to play an under pressure Spurs takes centre stage. Frank Lampard has hardly been so super so far in his attempt to stop the rot at Goodison Park though with away form still a problem, so go with a home Tottenham win at 4/7 here.

Leeds travel to Leicester to kick off the weekend’s Premier League action on Saturday, with the visitors hoping for an inaugural ‘new manager bounce’ as now playing for new boss Jesse Marsch following Marcelo Bielsa’s sacking last weekend. Leicester, whilst having not been in great form themselves recently, should be too much for a struggling Leeds. The home win is priced at 4/5.

Aston Villa and Southampton occupy the middle ground in the Premier League and have little hope of qualifying for Europe or getting dragged into a relegation battle. A well contested draw at 12/5 looks the value bet for this one.

Eddie Howe’s Newcastle look to have turned the corner in their aim to survive this season’s relegation fight and be playing Premier League football next season. That will please their new wealthy owners and a home win against a falling Brighton at 17/10 looks like a good price at St James’ Park.

After a surprisingly fast start out of the blocks, Brentford have done remarkably well this season but have struggled to retain their early form of late and will be hoping for a morale-boosting win away at Norwich on Saturday to calm the nerves. A draw at 21/10 would seem to be the value bet here, yet that does nothing to help either team in this fixture.

Finally, Crystal Palace to face Wolves at the Molineux stadium this weekend with Wolves keeping one eye on an unexpected European place should results go their way. Neither side tends to score many goals, and so it may not be a thriller. But the home win at 13/10 should be the best bet.
