With the Summer Transfer Deadline across many of the World’s biggest leagues – such as England’s Premier League, Spain’s La Liga and Germany’s Bundesliga – there will be a number of football clubs looking to make some final changes to their squads.
The current 2020/21 campaigns across the planet are already in full swing, and there has already been some great drama, a number of goals and some exciting action to have happened on the pitch, which can only be beneficial for punters. Christian Benteke
The current Crystal Palace forward, Christian Benteke, is an individual that has struggled for playing time and as a result, may have to look to leave Selhurst Park before 5 October, otherwise his career could stagnate further.
The Belgium international only made 15 appearances for Roy Hodgson’s side in the 2019/20 edition of the Premier League, and with the arrival of Michy Batshauyai from Chelsea on a temporary deal likely to have pushed him further down the pecking order, a move must surely happen for the 29-year-old.
Olivier Giroud
Olivier Giroud’s time at Chelsea has perhaps been a little frustrating for the experienced France international. The forward had to wait for his chance at Stamford Bridge for much of last season, although Project Restart provided him with the opportunity he needed and he grabbed it with both hands. He has been exceptional when called upon, but he will feel he has not been called upon enough.
The Blues have added Timo Werner to their attacking line-up, whilst Tammy Abraham finished their top League goalscorer, so Giroud’s position in the team could be at risk for the 2020/21 campaign – despite having featured from the bench regularly already.
Matteo Guendouzi
It would seem strange to suggest that Matteo Guendouzi’s name would appear on this list at one point as he seemed crucial to Arsenal, however one eventful afternoon in Brighton appeared to sour his relationship with the club’s manager, Mikel Arteta.
The Frenchman is thought to have pleaded with the Gunners’ hierarchy to be allowed to leave the club before the deadline next week, as he has not featured in the Spaniard’s side since that match in June. Still only 21-years-old, his career is hardly in jeopardy, but sitting out on the sidelines can not be too good for much longer.
Sergio Romero
Arguably the World’s best number 2, Sergio Romero can not even lay claim to that position any more following Manchester United’s decision to bring Dean Henderson into the fold following his impressive two years at Sheffield United.
Rumours are thought to have started to spiral out of control regarding the Argentina number one’s future, with Everton believed to be interested as it is believed the South American is ready to depart Old Trafford after being snubbed for the Europa League semi-final.
Dele Alli
If Jose Mourinho does not pick you and continues to leave you out of the side, it might be best to seek pastures new. That certainly could be the case for England international Dele Alli.
The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has been left out of the last two Premier League matchday squads and with the addition of Gareth Bale and a potential tactical reshuffle, his place in the Spurs side looks entirely doubtful. Whether any side will come in for him, though, could be a different story as loan deals are already thought to have been turned down by possible suitors, including Real Madrid.
Ousmane Dembele
Moving away from the England Premier League – although a move to it could be on the cards – FC Barcelona are undergoing some rather drastic changes this summer and Ousmane Dembele could be one of the men to face the chop.
Having cost the Catalan giants a total transfer fee that was thought to be worth around £135.5m from Borussia Dortmund, things simply have not worked out and it has looked to be a costly mistake. His game time has been limited by various factors and it seems Manchester United could be prepared to give him a new chance to get his career restarted.
