Aleksandar Mitrovic is one player who certainly splits opinion but a few Premier League clubs could do a lot worse than the big Serbian. He will be on the move from Fulham this summer and you would be wise to follow the match-bonuscode to get the best odds on his destination.
Mitrovic is one of a few Fulham players who should be in for a summer of uncertainty, the likes of Jean Michel Seri, Ryan Babel and Ryan Sessegnon could all leave the relegated club this summer.
We already know he’s too good for the Championship, given his form during his original loan spell at Fulham when he scored an incredible 12 goals in just 18 starts as the club got promoted to the Premier League.
A return of 11 goals and three assists in 37 Premier League appearances for a frankly shambolic Fulham side is a great return and it should be more than enough to impress the likes of Sean Dyche, Manuel Pellegrini, Ralph Hasenhuttl and Dean Smith.
Turf Moor could be nice fit for the physical forward as he seems custom-built to fit this long-ball loving Burnley side. Mitrovic could add a somewhat missing layer of guile to a Burnley team who regressed last season after a Premier League campaign saw them reach the Europa League qualification places. The thought of Mitrovic, who thrives off balls being delivered into the box, combining with Dwight McNeil and in particular Robbie Brady is one that would satisfy Dyche and petrify Premier League defenders in equal measures although he could prove too costly for Burnley’s tight wage structure. But, you could add this move to your betting slip here and make the most of the longer odds.
One side who could afford the 24-year-old striker’s wage demands would be Manuel Pellegrini and West Ham. Despite Marko Arnautovic being all of 6ft 3 he isn’t so much a target man as the smaller Mitrovic but the two mercurial talents could provide an interesting partnership up top. If there’s one thing we know about Pellegrini’s Man City days it’s that he loves a partnership, even so much so that he was happy to play David Silva out wide to accommodate two strikers.
Southampton and Hasenhuttl would be an interesting match as the Austrian manager has preferred smaller, quicker strikers in his career thus far- namely Timo Werner at RB Leipzig and Moritz Hartmann at Ingolstadt. That’s not to say a partnership with the ever-improving duo of James Ward-Prowse and Nathan Redmond wouldn’t be profitable to everyone involved but would go against the strikers that Hasenhuttl tends to opt for.
Lastly, Smith’s Villa are looking for a striker and will have surely had more than just a customary glance in the direction of the former Newcastle striker. As things stand Villa have just three first-team forwards– Scott Hogan, Keinan Davis and Jonathan Kodjia and neither have any Premier League experience at all. Mitrovic could be one of the many names that will be linked to Villa over the coming weeks but you wonder if the Serb will have motivations of playing at a club less likely to be involved in a relegation scrap in the future.
