Top 10 defenders in the world revealed
Creating a list that involves placing someone at the top can be a rather difficult challenge, especially when there are so many good options that could be chosen.
Naturally, any such list can be a good and useful tool in helping to provide some rather in-depth debate, that can also get a little heated as some may not initially agree with the rankings that have been provided.
Indeed, FootballCritic‘s latest ranking list for the best 50 defenders in football at the moment would leave plenty trying to make a point, although it could be difficult to argue against the creators, as they have stressed it has been made by the algorithm that that is used. Frustrations and arguments certainly will not be had by those who use an online casino in USA, though, as they have some of the best available.
Anyways, a Manchester City centre-back sits at the top of the pile, although it might not be the man you would have initially thought it would be; that man being John Stones.
Of course, the England international has undergone a resurgence of sorts under Pep Guardiola this season, as he has proven to be crucial in helping the Citizens to lift the League Cup, be on the verge of securing another Premier League title, as well as having the chance of winning the UEFA Champions League for the first time when they meet Chelsea in the final at Istanbul at the end of the month.
Chelsea actually have the second-best defender on FootballCritic’s list, with Thiago Silva taking that spot as he has proved that his experience has made plenty of difference for the Blues since arriving at Stamford Bridge; although working with his former PSG boss, Thomas Tuchel will have certainly helped! Who knows, maybe the Brazilian has been able to win at a number of online casino games as well when he has been away from the football field?
Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba is third, whilst Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos and Nico Elvedi of Borussia Monchengladbach rounding the top five.
Manchester City’s newest star, Ruben Dias, currently sits six, but many putting money on his name will likely bet that he will become the best centre-back in the world in the immediate future. Willi Orban of RB Leipzig, Real Madrid’s Eder Militao, RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano – who will move to FC Bayern Munich in the summer – and Manchester United’s Harry Maguire finishes of the top 10.
