Jayden Addai Scout Report At Como 2025/2026: Cesc Fàbregas New Right-Wing Talent – Player Analysis

Jayden Addai is a Dutch U21 international playing for Como.

Addai has been putting on remarkable performances this season under the emerging, talented head coach, Cesc Fàbregas.

The left-footed winger joined Como from AZ Alkmaar, where he had spent nine years, joining the youth team in 2016 and playing with various teams before joining Jong AZ, the reserve team, and progressing to the first team in 2023.

FC Como 1907’s management were quick to notice his talent and sign him before other big teams became interested in his services.

So far, the signing of Addai has not disappointed, as Fàbregas has known how to integrate him progressively and help him perform well despite the striking differences between the Eredivisie and Serie A.

In this Jayden Addai scout report, we will focus on his profile, possible positions and roles with FC Como, and his strengths and weaknesses.

The analysis will shed light on his playmaking, passing, and goal-scoring attributes, with remarks on what he can improve to become an even more complete and consistent attacking player in a complex league like Serie A.

Jayden Addai Style Of Play & Possible Positions At Como

Addai proved in previous seasons that he can play in various attacking and midfield positions, including right winger, advanced playmaker, striker, right wing-back, and right midfielder.

Over the last few seasons, he has been used in these positions and has performed well in most of them, with varying degrees of success.

Even though he has not been exploited on the left wing, his ability to use both feet in shooting and passing makes him a player who can also be used on that side with efficiency.

In terms of roles, Addai has mainly been used as a right winger in Fàbregas’ 4-2-3-1 system, playing various roles related to the team’s attacking phase.

As a right winger, Addai has been responsible for cutting inside or running near the touchline, then penetrating internally when possible, or opting for crossing/passing.

His diversity of solutions in the opponent’s half and the combination of physical strength and agility make Addai extremely dangerous against Serie A teams’ defences, especially in one-on-one duels.

According to his numbers this season so far, Addai has been able to dribble successfully with an average of 55.3%, attempting 5.89 dribbles per match.

This average can be significantly increased, especially if Addai keeps his dribbling unpredictable and works harder to improve his handling of numerical superiority in duels.

In fact, as Addai’s performances continue to be more remarkable and noticeable, Serie A teams will progressively apply tighter marking on him and eventually adopt systematic double marking.

This would limit Addai’s margin of chance creation as well as his ability to penetrate towards the box.

To avoid this, Addai should focus on anticipating numerical superiority and practice dribbling past two or three players in tight spaces on the wing.

Against Napoli, for instance, all of Leonardo Spinazzola, Miguel Gutiérrez, and Scott McTominay were aggressive and decisive in their duels against Addai, since they already knew that he is the type of player who should not be given space or time to dribble.

So, by closing him down and applying tight marking plus coverage from one of the midfielders, Addai’s attacking addition was relatively impacted.

To be more useful and impactful against teams that defend this way, it would be very helpful for Como to ensure that Nico Paz and one of the central midfielders, or the striker, get closer to him more regularly to facilitate passing combinations.

Having players close to Addai would help him get out of difficult situations and avoid losing duels inside the final third.

Furthermore, exploiting Addai’s dribbling talent and adding Paz’s creativity in passing and dribbling would make Como very dangerous upfront.

That’s why the idea of keeping these players close to each other in the final third would create issues for opposing defences, as the duo will be able to resist attempts at numerical superiority through one-two passes and dribbling.

According to his pizza chart from last season, which compares Jayden Addai’s performance for Jong AZ to other players in his position from leagues of a similar level, Addai’s numbers were outstanding relative to the level, as he was instrumental in goal contributions, dribbling, and shooting.

However, his passing statistics were not as convincing as his goalscoring and shooting statistics, with 4 assists in 36 games and an overall average of dangerous passes.

Therefore, key passing and the ability to provide vertical passes in a more regular, and especially more dangerous, way are aspects Addai needs to improve if he wants to guarantee a starting spot at Como in the coming period, as competition for regular spots is always fierce.

The pizza map for Addai’s first part of the 2025/2026 season appears less remarkable than last season’s, due to differences between the leagues and Addai’s progressive integration at Como.

That said, his statistics this season are not worrying so far, as he touches the ball a lot inside the opponent’s penalty box and attempts a high number of shots per match.

Jayden Addai’s defending and passing numbers are not good enough, however, and that is an aspect that he needs to focus on in the coming period in order to become a more complete and more dangerous winger.

Progressively becoming more involved in goal contributions can only enhance his season numbers, give him more confidence, and help him become more impactful in attacking actions inside the box.

Jayden Addai Playmaking Abilities & Possible Improvements

Jayden Addai’s agility and dribbling skills make him a very useful player in the playmaking phase, as he is capable of creating a lot of danger from the right winger, thanks to his penetration skills and ability to surpass opponents.

However, failing to be consistent with providing assists and serving very few dangerous vertical passes per match is something Addai needs to improve going forward.

What is very positive about Addai in this regard, however, is that he alternates between his left and right foot when passing, which helps him confuse opposing defenders and deliver unexpected passes.

Using this trick more often, with more attempted key passes per match, would make Addai much more reliable in the playmaking process, as he has proven on many occasions that he can provide dangerous key passes, but without consistency.

Jayden Addai Right-Footed Through Passing

As an example of right-footed, dangerous passing, the following highlights his ability to provide key passes with his weaker foot against Barcelona at the start of the season.

The perfect timing of the pass and its accurate execution helped his teammate reach the ball at the right spot behind Barcelona’s advanced defensive line.

This means that Addai’s through passing can be a reliable solution for the team when facing teams that tend to defend with a high defensive block.

Jayden Addai Crossing Skills

In addition to his weaker-foot passing, Addai proved he is excellent at dribbling and rarely loses the ball when cutting inside.

He relies on pace, balance, and systematic body feints to beat defenders without losing the ball.

He usually uses these dribbling skills to cut inside and then opt for crosses or through passes, and the fact that he uses both feet for passing helps him confuse defenders and remain unpredictable in his passing decisions.

The following example highlights one of his outstanding crosses towards the far post after he dribbled past his direct opponent.

Being able to exploit such dribbles consistently and provide accurate crosses to the unmarked player illustrates the impact Addai is bringing to Como’s attacking system and the high potential for progress he can achieve in this regard.

Jayden Addai Right-Footed Chance Creation

Jayden Addai proved he can become even more crucial and decisive with his passing at Como, as Fàbregas needs to work with him more extensively on his passing variations and frequency in the final third.

If the Spanish head coach encourages Addai to attempt more key passes per game, the result can be highly beneficial to the whole team and for Addai himself in terms of playmaking.

This was one of the key passes he succeeded in serving with Como using his right foot, which confirms his continued reliance on his right foot for passing, even in complicated situations.

In fact, Addai provided this dangerous pass when opposing defenders expected him to use his left foot rather than his right, exploiting the ability to surprise them with an unexpected pass to the centre of the box after he had advanced there.

Jayden Addai Goalscoring Traits

In terms of finishing, indeed, Jayden Addai has not yet been involved in many goals; however, he has shown some signs that warrant attention.

With three goals in Serie A until now, Addai’s goalscoring average can be considered positive for someone playing his first-ever Serie A season.

But to guarantee consistency in terms of the number of goals and finish the season with a higher number of goals, it will be crucial for Addai to alternate his goal-scoring methods and advance to the box more often in order to have more goal-scoring possibilities.

Jayden Addai Right-Footed Shooting From Distance

What is already remarkable with Jayden Addai’s goal-scoring is that he masters different types of shooting and, most notably, the curved shots.

It is true that he was not yet capable of scoring any curved shots, but he showed before joining Como that he could be extremely dangerous with cuts inside and curved shots from the right wing.

Despite that, being unlucky with curved shots so far did not stop Addai from scoring important goals for Como.

Lately, he surprised everyone with a right-footed shot from distance that highlighted Addai’s high level of confidence in his abilities, his determination to score goals from distance, and, more importantly, his impeccable right-footed shooting abilities.

Succeeding in scoring with both feet without losing either accuracy or power represents a very useful weapon for Addai that he can use to confuse any defence or goalkeeper.

He did exactly that in the following picture, scoring a shot from distance against a defence and a goalkeeper who did not expect such a shot from Addai at all.

This type of surprising initiative, uncommon among left-footed right wingers, makes Jayden Addai stand out as a different kind of right winger who is capable of stepping out of his comfort zone, taking shots from different positions, and using his weaker foot.

Jayden Addai Movements Without The Ball

Furthermore, Jayden Addai’s movement without the ball in the final third has proven crucial, as he often provides passing options and avoids marking.

Having dynamic players in the opponent’s penalty box and always looking to provide passing options helps Como find concrete solutions in that dangerous area.

Fàbregas is known for encouraging continuous movement without the ball in the opponent’s half to maintain possession and for proposing vertical passing solutions to the ball holder.

Addai fits this system perfectly, as he is dynamic enough to move well with and without the ball, and intelligent enough to anticipate defenders’ movements and attack the spaces left inside the box.

On this occasion, he noticed the space he could attack by anticipating his direct marker, while waiting for a pass or a cross from his teammate on the left, which helped him score a decisive goal.

Conclusion

Jayden Addai has already provided plenty of attacking solutions for Como’s system thanks to his dribbling, agility, crossing, and shooting skills, as well as his intelligent movements without the ball in the final third.

With a few adjustments, such as improving his key passing accuracy and attempts, and encouraging his dribbling abilities by making some of the midfielders play closer to him in order to create numerical superiority in key attacking areas, Jayden Addai can become even more useful and central to Como’s playing system.
