El Clasico is not something strange to any football fan in the world. On the contrary, it’s always the classic match that everyone looks forward to seeing. When Barcelona and Real Madrid have become huge and great day by day, the game between these two giants has also been dramatic, classic, and unpredictable.

So which are the top greatest El Clasico of all time? Let’s altogether look back at these super matches between the two greatest Spanish clubs in the world.

#6. Barcelona vs. Real Madrid – La Liga (April 2012)

Under Mourinho’s reign, Real Madrid was especially dangerous in encounter-attacking. They had “F1 formulation” Cristiano Ronaldo, who always knew to torment the opposition defenders. Real Madrid dominated La Liga at that time.

Sami Khedira put the Royal football club in front with a goal, before Alexis Sanchez found the net of Madrid soon after that. The score was tied 1-1 until Ronaldo came up to silence the crowd in Nou Camp. He, then, had a super “calm” celebration, which was still iconic until now.

2-1 for Real Madrid and this proved a dominant period of Los Blancos.

#5. Barcelona vs. Real Madrid – La Liga (April 2016)

Real Madrid also owned a great man with another F1 motor – Gareth Bale. The three deadly tridents (Ronaldo, Bale, Benzema) were the scariest nightmare to any defensive line in the world.

However, that El Clasico witnessed a late red card for Sergio Ramos, which forced Real Madrid to play difficulty with only ten men standing. But eventually, they managed to win the dramatic match in Barca’s stadium.

Benzema and Pique were those who struck for each team and tied the score at 1-1. Things got harder with Madrid after the dismissal of Ramos in the minute of 83rd. But superstar Ronaldo once again knew how to silence the audience at Nou Camp.

His decisive late goal would take down Barcelona with the score 2-1 and helped Real chase closely after them in La Liga league. Though the giant of Catalunya finally got the La Liga title, this was a dramatic and classic match.

#4. Barcelona vs. Real Madrid – La Liga (April 2017)

Another big game took place in April with many surprises. This was also among the most sensational El Classico in history.

This match was a show of Argentine superstar Lionel Messi. He scored a late late goal to secure a win for Barca and helped extend the La Liga title race.

Real Madrid came up first with the goal of Casemiro. Then, Barca took the turn with two later goals by Messi and Rakitic. Ramos, at this game, also knew how to impress and get attention by the red card after a brutal foul with “LM10” of Barca.

The match was put into a climax with the equalization of James Rodriguez, but Messi was the one to close this game with the win for Barcelona. Though Barcelona couldn’t get the La Liga trophy in that season, this was among the most dramatic matches.

#3. Barcelona vs. Real Madrid – Copa del Rey (2010)

This was incidentally the final of Copa del Rey in the season 2010-2011. Real Madrid, with the management of Mou, finally got the most traditional Spanish cup title.

The match took place after the Champions League face-to-face just a few days, and you could still feel the hatred and rage there. They did fight and play like madmen with many fouls, cards, and injuries. The game was full of physical contacts, but the result was not as good as it. There was no goal in the first 90 minutes, which forced two teams into the extra time.

Here came the superman Ronaldo with the highest jumping header in the 113th minute. The decisive goal gave Real the trophy, and this would make up the loss against Barca in the Champions League match below.

#2. Barcelona vs. Real Madrid – Champions League 2010-2011

A classic, dramatic, and brutal game. You will hardly ever see such a match in Champions League like this.

Mourinho and Pep Guardiola were officially the biggest rivals of each other since this match. The two brilliant brains fought against each other, but the winning result was for only one.

What happened actually?

Mourinho, who was famous for “weird” decisions and strategies, let Pepe play as a defensive midfielder to dominate the game. Also, he wanted to limit the pass and connection in the middle of Barca, which was the best weapon of the Catalan giant.

However, that plan of Mou was failed due to the red card of Pepe after a dangerous tackle on Dani Alves. What would come would come. The 10-man squad of Real couldn’t stand still against the beautiful attack of Barcelona.

After the first easy goal putting the team up for 1-0, Messi scored one of the most memorable and most magnificent goals in El Classico. He did dribble past four men in Real Madrid with his high-class skills and techniques, before striking at the far corner of Casillas’s goal with his weaker foot. What an incredible goal!

#1. Barcelona vs. Real Madrid – La Liga (March 2014)

And here came the greatest El Clasico ever. It consisted of many crucial factors: hat-trick, red card, injuries, fouls, etc., They were the indispensable flavours of an El Clasico match.

Iniesta was the one to put Barca in front, but two goals later of Benzema led Los Blancos 2-1. Messi lighted the hope for Barca with the equalization before the break, but Ronaldo succeeded in completing a penalty goal to help Real once again take the lead 3-2.

There came the climax when Ramos was sent off after a brutal foul with Neymar inside the penalty box. Messi wouldn’t miss the chance to put two teams back to the starting point. However, Messi got the final goal after converting a penalty in the last minutes. What a dramatic and classic El Clasico!

Final words

Above are all the top greatest el Clasico of all time. As you can see, there are always essential factors for the big matches, and El Classico doesn’t lack any of them. So who is your idol? And Which are the best matches you like? Let’s share your idea now.
