Group F consists of the hosts from 2019, France, along with Brazil, Jamaica and Panama. Amandine Henry, who finished the season as the defensive midfielder for Lyon in the Feminine Division 1 in France, will be returning to the national team setup. At 33 years old, the midfielder has been on the international stage for close to 15 years and a lot will be expected of her as France look to stay in the tournament for as long as possible.

Amandine Henry is used to playing as the lone defensive midfielder in a 4-3-3 for Lyon. She has played as a centre-back at times and as an advanced ‘8’ when needed. It is this versatility that has made Henry one of the regulars wherever she has played. As a deep-lying midfielder, one of her key responsibilities is to receive the ball and progress it forward, at which she has excelled, ranking 89th percentile for progressive passes per 90 minutes.
As a defensive midfielder, she has excelled in 1v1 tackling and aerial duels. Offensively, as well, Henry ranks 93rd percentile for Goal contributions per 90 minutes but she is not someone who quite often has an assist or a goal to her name.
Henry has not played as much as she would have wanted to this season for different reasons but her experience at the international level will mean that the French women’s team will be relying pretty much heavily on Henry to help them progress to the later stages of the tournament.
