It may be three months later than planned, but we finally have this season’s Champions League final on the horizon, and although football fans all over the world have had to wait, Sunday’s main event will most certainly be worth it.
Two titans of the European game face off in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon. Although Bayern Munich may have won this competition on five different occasions (including the European Cup era), opponents Paris Saint-Germain are yet to lift this coveted trophy.
While it is that continued failure in terms of European dominance, which has spurred Paris Saint-Germain or PSG as they are perhaps better known to this year’s final and after falling short on so many previous occasions, there is a growing belief that 2020 will finally be their year.
If that is to be the case, manager Thomas Tuchel is going to have to achieve something that he failed to do during his time in charge of Borussia Dortmund, and for the 46-year-old, the task is simply to get the better of Bayern Munich once and for all.
Something that is far easier said than done, and when you consider that the Bavarian outfit put an incredible eight goals past Barcelona in the Quarterfinals, they are a team that is genuinely feared wherever they go.
Even the best football prediction software could not have guessed a Bayern victory by such an emphatic margin. With the ability to score goals throughout the team, it could be a long evening for their Ligue 1 opponents.
As always, Robert Lewandowski will lead the line for Bayern, and in a year where the prestigious Ballon d’Or will not be awarded, the fearsome Polish forward can at least earn one of the biggest team accolades in the game instead.
Flanked by German international Thomas Muller, this Bayern pair can rip the heart out of any defense and therefore the likes of Brazil’s Thiago Silva and Marquinhos could be in for a busy evening at Benfica’s Estadio Da Luz
Of course, PSG is not lacking when it comes to possessing world-class forwards, and with the ability to call upon both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, there is every chance that attack will outsmart defense at both ends of the field.
When it comes to trying creating the perfect Soccer bet winning formula, picking either of these two sides to win usually results in a financial victory. Then again, Bayern Munich and PSG are not usually paired against each other.
This means something will have to give this weekend, and with the German outfit considered as pre-match favorites, it means France’s most successful club of the last decade find themselves playing an unusual role.
One that sees them take the rare label of the underdog and with PSG’s biggest names not used to such a status, it will be interesting to see if they live up to their billing and crack under pressure or give all they’ve got against the 2013 Champions League winners.
Whichever way you look at it, it is set to be an incredible final and one that the footballing community deserves after these past few months. It will be challenging to pick a winner now, but it will be easy to enjoy all the drama. Who will win? Check out what the world’s leading football tipster at sporita.com thinks.
