After an action-packed week of international football and World Cup qualifiers dominated last week, the Premier League return and Champions League quarter-finals have our full attention over the coming week. Keep reading for the best betting tips for both competitions…
Liverpool v Watford Betting Tips
Liverpool will likely think that their match against relegation-threatened Watford will be easier than their last game away against an energetic Nottingham Forest. If they were to win at Anfield in Saturday’s early kick-off, they’d sit at the top of the Premier League for the first time in six months – for an hour or two, at least.
Roy Hodgson will likely be disappointed that he struggled to build momentum after winning against Southampton last time out, due to a 20-day break caused by the international matches. Watford now face a real challenge given that was only their second win in 17 games. And it doesn’t look like it’ll get any easier for the Hornets this weekend, with a Liverpool win to nil at 3/4 looking likely.

Burnley v Manchester City Betting Tips
However the Anfield match goes, Man City will return to the top of the league after a win at Turf Moor on Saturday. After Pep Guardiola’s side saw off Southampton at the FA Cup quarter-finals, they’ll be looking to do the same with Burnley.
The Turf Moor club have had even more time away than Watford, but will still feel irked about letting Brentford score twice in the last five minutes for the win last time out. Things aren’t looking optimistic for Sean Dyche’s team now, and even odds of 14/1 for the home win don’t seem compelling. A city win to nil at 5/6 is a better pick.
Chelsea v Brentford Betting Tips
Brentford take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge for a rare west London derby this Saturday. The Bees look likely to maintain their top-flight status – especially after a 2-0 success against Burnley – and have consistently handled seemingly better sides all season.
Chelsea may be recuperating this weekend with the Champions League quarter-final tie against Real Madrid on the horizon. But they’ve only lost once this year so far and therefore look good for a win here. A home win and both teams to score at 5/2 could well be worth a punt.

Premier League Betting Tips
An unimpressive Norwich are hosted by Brighton on Saturday, with the latter keen to distance themselves from any hint of a relegation scrap. That should be achievable too, with the Seagulls priced at 4/9 to win over the Canaries.
Leeds have landed back-to-back wins for the first time since the turn of the year, and show considerable signs of improvement under Jesse Marsch. They’ll take on a Southampton side out of the cup, who are currently sitting in the middle of the league table. It looks likely to be another win for the Yorkshire club at 7/5.
10 points – but just one place – sit between Wolves and Aston Villa. Of the West Midlands sides, it’s the Black Country club who need to win to boost any chance of European qualification. The Villains have slowed a little of late, but might be able to manage a draw here, priced at 21/10.
Despite Man United still chasing a Champions League spot, the Old Trafford club seem to carry an unruly air with them at the moment. Leicester have won three out of their last four outings in the league but arguably look a shadow of their former selves of late – and might not be able to halt a home win here. United are 1/2 to take all three points.
Everton are up against West Ham early on Sunday in what looks a huge fixture for both ends of the table. Everton have looked bad of late and are in genuine danger. It’s difficult to predict anything but a home win here – priced at 4/ 5 – to help the Hammers’ European dreams.
Spurs smashed West Ham last outing, and look like the more likely side that’ll break into the top four this season. They face a Newcastle team on Sunday that look like they’ve managed to avoid relegation and give their new owners a reason to celebrate again in the summer. A Tottenham win at 8/15 looks like a good shout here though.
Crystal Palace go against Arsenal on Monday to wrap up matchday 31, with Patrick Vieira likely to want to push his former club – with the Eagles continuing to impress this season. Arsenal have also massively improved as the campaign has continued but this could well end in a home success, priced at around 29/10.
Champions League Quarter-Final Betting Tips
Karim Benzema and Real Madrid won’t be scared of anyone in the last eight after managing three goals in 17 minutes to take PSG out of the competition. However, they do face a daunting trip away to Stamford Bridge against Chelsea on Tuesday. The London side don’t seem bothered by the sanctions on their owner when it comes to performing on the pitch, and should put up a good fight. The narrow home win at 21/20 is the best value choice here.
Man City sailed through their round-of-16 second-leg match against Benfica last time out, after winning 5-0 in the first game. It’ll be a tough challenge on Tuesday as they host Atlético Madrid at the Etihad. Despite having already knocked out the red half of the city in the previous round, Diego Simeone’s team will likely find this go more difficult. City to win at home is priced at 4/11.
The Ajax pressure in Amsterdam was successfully absorbed by Benfica, who then sneaked a single goal that sent them through to the last eight. For their troubles, they get a home first leg against an energetic Liverpool, and the Lison side are going to have to give it their all to be in with a chance when the second leg comes around. Jurgen Klopp’s side look deadly here so the away win is priced at around 4/11.
There’s just the one match taking place on Wednesday, with the Juventus-victors Villarreal welcoming Bayern Munich to Spain. The Bundesliga club annihilated RB Salzburg 7-1 to get to this point, but Unai Emery’s men aren’t easily scared after dispatching Atalanta in the group stage. Bayern should go through but a surprise draw isn’t off the table and is priced at 16/5. Back Bayern or a surprise draw at Bet365 and get £50 in free bets.
