Betting.ca Author Doug Hirdle famed for his where to bet on soccer guides and articles recently told me that many football fans are experiencing what he calls withdrawal symptoms, by not being able to enjoy the many football matches they once used to watch.
We have all been suffering from ongoing lockdowns of course, and that has affected people in different ways, and you may have found yourself experiencing all manner of mental health problems when faced with being stuck at home for weeks and months on end.
Keeping your mind occupied is important, and with that in mind I want to explore some ways that many football fans have been able to do just that, in the hope they will have no long term problems when things finally get back to some form of normality.
Keeping Fit During Lockdown
It can be and is way too easy to let yourself got a little during a lockdown, and I myself have found when bored I do tend to eat way too much, and that may just be something that you have found yourself experiencing too.
If you have, then remember to set aside a little bit of time to exercise, whilst you may not be allowed out of the house dependent on just where it is you reside and the level of lockdown you are under, you can still do all manner of exercises from the comfort of your own home.
In fact, many professional footballers and other sporting greats have started to release on Social Media videos of themselves exercising, so do consider watching one of those videos and joining in, whilst you may not feel like doing so, by joining in and exercising regularly, when we do all come out of lockdown you will not regret that overeating.
Relying on Mobile Apps to Keep Your Brain Active
There is a lot to be said about the humble tablet device or smartphone too during a pandemic, for whilst you can of course use those devices to check in with your friends and family members by texting them or giving them a call, you can also download all manner of unique apps onto those devices too.
If you do love Football then consider downloading one of the many general knowledge or sporting related quiz apps that can be accessed via an app on your mobile device, or even consider downloading a Football themed game, there will be no shortages of them available no matter which operating system your mobile device has installed upon it.
Try and do everything you possibly can do to keep your mind alert, active, and ticking over, as that will have a positive effect on your long term mental health and will greatly help improve it too. If you are allowed out for a short period of time to exercise, then take a ball if you have one along with you and use to help you exercise too.
Returning to Normality
You may experience all manner of negative thoughts during a lockdown, much more so if you live alone, however even when living with friends or family members during these difficult times you can find your mental health starts to suffer.
Just never forget that this pandemic will come to an end one day soon, and many countries of the world have started to lift restrictions and are slowly but surely getting back to some form of normality, and that will soon be something that Canadians will experience.
So, until that day arrives, please do keep the faith, and do everything in your power to keep fit and keep your mind ticking over, and one day soon we will all be able to get back to our normal lives, and that will hopefully include being able to pick and choose just which football matches we want to watch live on TV and which football matches we want to go and watch in person rather than just on television too.
