Tottenham have made an excellent start to the 2023/24 Premier League campaign with three victories from their opening four games. All this has come after they lost their star striker in the summer, with Harry Kane moving to Bayern Munich.
Hard to put into words how to say goodbye to a club and fans who have done so much for me in my career. You will always be in my heart. Thank you Tottenham, thank you Tottenham fans. ???? pic.twitter.com/L662cyax7p

The early performance so far this season could suggest Spurs are better without the England captain. Here are some reasons to support that argument.
Fresh Start Under Ange Postecoglou
When he took the job as the new manager back in the summer, Ange Postecoglou knew there was a strong chance he would lose Harry Kane in the transfer window. It meant that the Celtic man could plan for life without the Englishman.
Postecoglou has given the Spurs dressing room a big life since he arrived. As a result of their hot start, they now have English Premier League odds of 20/1 for the title, much shorter than they were before the campaign began.
The Australian has given some players who were out of the starting XI last season a chance to shine under him. The squad seems to have come together, and that is going to help Spurs as they bid to challenge Manchester City and Arsenal for the title.
Spurs Now Playing with Strikers Deep Up the Pitch
As good as Kane was during his 14 years with the senior team at Spurs, he often became frustrated when he wasn’t seeing much of the ball in games. This would lead to him dropping back into midfield at times just to get his foot on the ball.
This season, Son Heung-min and Richarlison have played much further up the pitch, and it means they are getting good opportunities to score. Son, in particular, looks to be benefiting from being the main attacking threat in his team, so it would be no surprise to see him better his goal return of 14 goals from last year.
Tottenham showed how strong they are going forward when they hit five goals past Burnley at Turf Moor in the final game before the international break, as documented in the BBC match report. The last time Tottenham had scored five goals away from home in a Premier League game prior to that was in May 2022 when they hammered then relegated Norwich City on the last day of the season.
Maddison Has Made a Difference to The Team
Spurs have invested the money they have received for Kane well into the team, with the pick of their business being James Maddison. He is turning out to be the best signings of the summer transfer window in the Premier League.

As Reuters wrote about after a deal was signed, the midfielder joined from Leicester City for £40 million. He has scored twice and provided a couple of assists in his opening four games. The England international has given the Spurs attack an added dimension. He looks like exactly the type of player the North London club has been missing over the last few years.
Unfortunately for Tottenham, they suffered an early exit in the EFL Cup, but they still have a chance of silverware this season in the Premier League and FA Cup in the post-Kane era at the club.
